The short version: Streaks stores your habit data locally on your device. We only sync it to the cloud if you choose to sign in and enable backup. We do not sell your data. Ever.
This Privacy Policy explains how Streaks ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Streaks mobile application ("App") on iOS and Android.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Account information — If you sign in (via Google or Apple), we receive your email address and display name from that provider.
- Username — A display name you choose within the App for the leaderboard.
- Habit data — The names, icons, colors, schedules, and completion dates of the habits you create.
Information collected automatically:
- Device information — Device type, operating system version, and app version for debugging and compatibility.
- Crash reports — Anonymous crash logs to help us fix bugs. These do not contain your personal habit data.
- Purchase information — Subscription status and transaction receipts, processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details.
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect your precise location (location permission on iOS is used solely to enable notification delivery, not for tracking).
- We do not access your camera, microphone, or contacts.
- We do not run behavioral advertising or ad tracking.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality — habit tracking, streaks, reminders, and analytics.
- Display your username and streak statistics on the global leaderboard (Premium feature).
- Send you local notification reminders at the times you schedule. We do not send unsolicited marketing push notifications.
- Sync your habit data across your devices when cloud backup is enabled.
- Process and manage your subscription through RevenueCat, Apple, or Google.
- Improve the App through anonymous crash reports and usage analytics.
3. Data Storage & Security
Local storage: All your habit data — streaks, check-in dates, settings — is stored locally on your device using an encrypted on-device database. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud backup.
Cloud backup (optional): If you sign in and enable backup, your habit data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), which is hosted in Google's secure infrastructure. You can delete your cloud data at any time from within the App.
Photo library: If you use the screenshot feature, the App requests permission to save images to your photo library. We do not upload or store those images.
Retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete the App or request account deletion, your cloud data is permanently removed within 30 days.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Storage) — Firebase Privacy Policy
- RevenueCat (Subscription management) — RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Google Sign-In — Google Privacy Policy
- Sign in with Apple — Apple Privacy Policy
We do not share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Third-party services listed above that are necessary to operate the App (Firebase, RevenueCat).
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: If Streaks is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before this occurs.
- Leaderboard: Your username and streak score are visible to other Premium users on the global leaderboard. You can opt out of the leaderboard at any time in Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us immediately at umairali2k181@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. You can do this directly in the App (Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing us.
- Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of leaderboard: Disable your leaderboard presence at any time from Settings.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
